Assam government eases nighttime curfew schedule and opens theaters to 50% capacity

The nighttime curfew in Assam will be in place between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. instead of starting at 10 p.m., the state government said in a new set of guidelines on Tuesday.

The order, issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, said business establishments can stay open until 10 p.m. In addition, he said restaurants and eateries can only operate with 50% capacity until 10 p.m.

“Take-out and food items from restaurants, dhabas and other restaurants will also not be allowed after 10 pm,” he said.

Regarding public transport, he said: “The transport of goods will continue unhindered” and “automatic rickshaws, bicycle rickshaws and taxis can work for passengers with 100% capacity. in seats “in compliance with all Covid protocols.

“Cinemas and theaters will be permitted with a capacity of 50% of spectators fully vaccinated and respect for the appropriate behavior of Covid-19,” the statement said.

Weddings and religious ceremonies will be permitted with a maximum of 50 people present. Everyone present at such a gathering should be vaccinated with at least the first anti-Covid jabs.

On top of that, no more than 60 fully vaccinated people per hour will be allowed in iconic religious locations; 40 people fully vaccinated per hour in other religious places.

All civil servants (including contractual and fixed pay) who have taken at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine can come to the office.

In addition, government and private organizations providing essential / emergency services, law enforcement services and electoral work will continue without restriction in all districts.

Delivery of essential goods via e-commerce can work around the clock with pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centers and veterinary clinics that can remain open 24 hours a day.

The decision was made because new daily cases fluctuate between 300 and 400, mainly in urban and peri-urban areas. Most districts are reporting less than 10 cases per day for the past four to five weeks, the government said.
