Re-Boot Camp shows footage from both campaigns and more


In yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed some more Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp gameplay, including some of its new features.


During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo revealed a new trailer for its upcoming Switch strategy game, Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp. The remake of the first two games in the long-running Advance Wars series, Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp will present these two classic games in a new style with new animations.

the Advanced Wars the series is a sister series to the Famicom wars series, which began in 1988. The first Advanced Wars game released in 2001 on Game Boy Advance. Its sequel, Advance Wars 2: Rise of the Black Hole, released two years later. The series has been dormant for over ten years, as the last game to be released overall wars the series was Advance Wars: Days of Ruin in 2008 for the Nintendo DS. Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp was announced last year during a Nintendo Direct at E3.

In this new trailer, Nintendo has revealed some of the new features this game will have after being previously delayed. Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp out of its original December 2021 release date. Nintendo and WayForward, who are developing the game, added some quality-of-life features such as fast forward and turn reset. Nintendo has also confirmed that some features are returning from the original game like local multiplayer, map editor, and the War Room. However, the game’s biggest new feature is the voice acting, which will be a first for the series.

WayForward is famous for developing the Shantae series, and their penchant for 2D sprite work was likely a reason Nintendo turned to them for development of this game. Advanced Wars series, Intelligent Systems, is probably busy working on fire emblem given the popularity of the series.

Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp is probably a big relief for fans wondering what will happen to the series after Intelligent Systems announced that sales of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin were much lower than expected. After Fire Emblem: Awakening do fire emblem popular, the developer has been working on this series ever since, taking only a few breaks to kick off a few paper mario Games.

A rumor came out late last year that while the game would be delayed to 2022, Nintendo had already set a new release date. Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp would be pushed back to April 8, 2022 according to its listing on the eShop. This date was reconfirmed yesterday. Fans can expect Advanced Wars‘ is coming back soon.

Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch on April 8, 2022.
