Law360 (Sept. 8, 2021, 9:43 p.m. EDT) – Facebook and Twitter are easing their crusade against election-related misinformation, according to a white paper released Tuesday by a watchdog that claims social media platforms remain “black boxes” when it comes to transparency.
Although the platforms have taken action to tackle disinformation linked to the pandemic, Common Cause, the watchdog body focused on elections and democracy, found that Twitter and Facebook had “drastically reduced” their focus on disinformation linked to the elections.
